Through her involvement in custom home building alongside her husband, Laura understands how architecture, finishes, natural light, privacy, and functionality come together to create a beautifully designed home.

Living between Las Cruces and Alto, New Mexico, Laura also has a personal understanding of the homes, lifestyles, and design preferences found throughout the region. She enjoys working closely with clients to find window treatments that feel intentional, complement their surroundings, and function beautifully in everyday life.

As Co-Owner and Founder of Shade Studio LLC, Annette Kowalski brings a unique combination of professional experience, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for beautiful homes. After 40 years of dedicated service as a contractor with the federal government, Annette retired in 2024 and embraced the opportunity to turn her passion for design into something meaningful through Shade Studio.

A full-time resident of Alto, New Mexico, Annette values being part of the local community and enjoys collaborating with homeowners, designers, builders, and businesses throughout the area. Her connection to the region gives her an appreciation for the distinctive homes, character, and lifestyles of the communities Shade Studio serves.

Through her husband's career as a custom home builder, Annette has also gained valuable insight into construction, finishes, and the details that bring a thoughtfully designed home together.

Her creativity, personalized approach, and commitment to exceptional customer service are at the heart of the Shade Studio experience.

With an impressive 20 years of experience in the window covering industry, Tammy Mutchnik brings extensive knowledge of order management, manufacturer coordination, and business operations to Shade Studio.

As Office Administrator, Tammy helps keep every project moving seamlessly behind the scenes. She oversees ordering, tracks projects from start to finish, coordinates with manufacturing partners, assists with installation scheduling, and manages the many details required to keep each project organized and on track.

Her industry knowledge, organization, attention to detail, and dedication to follow-through help create a smooth experience from the initial order through final installation.

While much of Tammy's work happens behind the scenes, her expertise is an essential part of Shade Studio's commitment to exceptional service and a seamless client experience.

Steven Triste brings hands-on expertise and extensive product knowledge to Shade Studio, serving as both a skilled installer and trusted sales professional. His experience with custom window coverings gives him a valuable understanding of not only how a product should look and function, but how it should be properly installed for lasting performance.

Known for his ability to think creatively, Steven particularly enjoys tackling unique or challenging window applications. He has a talent for finding practical solutions that allow even difficult spaces to receive beautiful, functional custom window treatments.
